I completely understand. Both of my children continue to be very selective, although I have to admit it's getting better. It's tough starting school and trying to figure what to have them bring for lunch... usually looks more like snacks than nutritional food, but I figure a good breakfast (for my one who eats breakfast cereal, pancakes or raisin bread toast) and dinner (what they like for dinner) make up for the lunch and snacks. Just make sure they eat what they like for now - milk is always satisfying if they like it- and in time, it should improve ... or we get used to it! Bon appetit.

Definitely not alone on this one! My oldest daughter would only eat a few select things for a long time - she has now gotten much better at 4 years old! Just keep offering things from your plate. You can't force them eat it, but I want them to at least try it and if they don't like it, fine. She currently will only drink Milk for a drink- at least her bones will be strong!

This too shall pass! :) I hope!!

I was the same way as PP (and you!)!! I am a very picky eater to this day, but will attempt to try new things. I remember being 17 years old and my mom paying me $25 to eat a whole piece of aspargus. I did, and now I love asparagus. It worked, although, I wouldn't reccommend using bribary as you number #1 tactic- you might go broke by the time she is 13!

As a mother of a 3 year old daughter and a 1 1/2 year old son....I can assure you that you are not alone in the battle of picky eaters. But I will assure you that it will get better. Eve is just in the prime of it. Isabella is 3 now and is definitely a much better eater so there is hope. Braeden on the other hand is so picky that it is frustrating. He will only eat certain things and of course it is nothing healthy, although he does like fruit. Our doctor has recommended not giving in and letting him go to bed without dinner if he refuses to eat what we made him. I thought I could never do it, but it just happened the other night. Of course the doctor was right...he wasn't up all night starving...he slept through the night and just went ahead as normal the next day. Needless to say, we are in this together and hopefully it will ease your mind to know we are going through the same thing!
