nice to hear about your child in good health. I have a brother in the same predicament. My twin nephews were born premature too recently. the doctors are telling us to find a 4-30 lbs car seat but it is very difficult to find. I was wondering if someone can recommend me where to go to buy one or if recommend me which company makes them because the family is taking every precaution for them to secure them. I would gladly appreciate.

Mike and Claudia,
I am the mother of two premmie girls (twins born at 30 weeks). I was similar to Claudia with severe pre-e. Since the girls have been home (they turned 1 last week!), we have started The Spud and Tater Project to help parents with premmies.
Thanks for sharing your story and when you get a chance, feel free to check out what we are doing for parents of premmies.

Hi Mike & Claudia,
Great story and so very glad it has a happy ending! Mia is so lucky to have 2 caring parents such as you! I can relate, having 2 of my sons premature (they are now 26 & 21)! Parents who have normal term pregnancies have no idea what it's like to go through something of this magnitude. When something is wrong with your child, the need to "fix it" or "make it better" is normal. So, when you're faced with having your child born premature, the overwhelming feeling of helplessness is almost unbearable and after that is sheer fear! My 26 yr. old son and his wife are facing this as we speak! On Wednesday, July 8TH, my first grandchild was born a month early. I don't know which one terrified me the most, my own children or my first grandson. Regardless, the same helpless feeling and fear have not changed. Please keep him in your prayers as he struggles in NICU! He weight is fantastic but, he's having trouble with his breathing & with the ability to breath and swallow his milk at the same time...but, he's a fighter...just look at his Dad! I'm so glad that Mia was blessed with you and Claudia, it makes all the difference in the world. I'd also like to remind anyone who reads this that if you've been blessed with healthy children, realize how incredibly fortunate you are, yet remember the parents & so many other babies who fight for their life every minute of the day! Please, contribute to March of Dimes, St Jude's, or any other agency who make it possible for so many of us to tell our story with a happy ending! Good luck and God Bless, Kim D. Martin
