monthlynod_150x1501 Gracos Monthly Nods - September Some good blogs/posts you’ll want to check out this month for sure!…

Lindsay Lebresco - Adventures in Babywearing - The Birth Story

Stephanie at Adventures in Babywearing was recently blessed with a baby girl - her first girl after 3 little boys. Her post gives a play by play on the birth of “Ivy” at home (which was planned). After having 2 hospital births, Stephanie’s birth story about bringing a child into the world in a familiar, serene and inclusive environment almost makes me want to try it one more time to do it her way (but probably not!). The beautiful description of this birth would bring any knowing parent to tears.

Amy Trice - IzzyMom - You’re All Special, Wonderful Winners
My son isn’t at an age where we have “everyone wins” awards. But, I have heard of this from other parents. I was just hoping the trend would shift back to the old days when winners received the prizes and accolades. While everyone else received a lesson in being a good sport and trying harder next time. I think there is something for children to learn from winner/loser experiences. Based on the number of comments to this blog entry, I’m glad to see I’m not alone with my opinion.

Erin McHugh - Surrender, Dorothy - A Poem Made Out of Songs for You on Tuesday
As a self proclaimed music junkie, I thought this post was awesome! A poem made of lines from songs. Love it! I am definitely going to try this.

Jon DeHart - Clare’s Dad - Daydream Believer and a Homecoming Queen
Clare’s Dad writes about development of a personality. The personality you start to see as a child grows, and he draws some conclusions as many parents do, then asks “Can you picture yours grown too?” It’s a universal question - fun to think about - until you consider some of your child’s classmates.

Kristin DeLoach - DC Metro Moms Blog - The Secret World of Bedtime
My nod goes to Linda because her post about bedtime rituals and her analogy to “adjusting the TV set with the old bunny ears” is funny, true and I can totally relate.

Melissa Parlaman - Motherhood Uncensored - Fathers Be Good to Your Daughters. But Don’t Forget About Your Wives.
I thought this was a great post about not forgetting about your spouse even during the craziness of being a parent. It is easy to get caught up with everything going on so you do need to take the time to appreciate your spouse & spend some time with them. I am happy to report that I am celebrating my 4 year anniversary with my husband this week so we are going to take the weekend to have some couple time. Happy Anniversary, Rob!
