Now she’s really Daddy’s Little Girl..

daddys-girl2My daughter, PP, has always adored her daddy. However, recently her adoration has been taken to a whole new level. When daddy is around, mommy can’t do anything- I can’t brush her hair, can’t take her to the bathroom, can’t get her out of the car seat, can’t even put her coat on. “Daddy Do It!!” is what I hear every day.

I think this behavior started once we told PP that Mommy was going to have a baby. I don’t think she really understands what this means, but she does know that she can’t jump on Mommy, kick Mommy in the belly or hit Mommy (PP can get pretty physical when she plays, so she does, accidentally, do these things). Daddy is the one that can rough house with her & throw her up in the air so she is loving life when playing with him these days.

I am glad that she loves her Daddy and loves spending time with him but she’s been a little extreme with it (and now Daddy is getting tired since PP is asking him to do everything). I think things will be different once #2 is born in July–she may want to spend more time with her Mommy or become even more attached to Daddy since I will be taking care of the new baby. We’ll see what happens….but in the meantime, I am going to enjoy laying back a little and having Daddy taking care of his little princess!

Oh, how I know the periodic heartbreak of a Daddy’s Girl! My daughter is 12 months and she absolutely lights up when her Daddy walks in the room. He spends every afternoon with her, so it makes sense… We’re lucky to have such great husbands, aren’t we? :)

I’m with you on the wonderful breaks it allows for! Your daughter is a cutie. So glad I found this blog via Twitter!
