A couple of folks submitted their nods to me this month and they were actually for blogs/bloggers we’d previously  nodded.  And perhaps those bloggers deserve double recognition, but I like to spread the wealth Problem is, maybe we don’t know you’re out there!  If you have a parenting blog that you think is “nod-worthy” introduce yourself! We’re always looking for stories that touch our heart, are relevant in our lifes and posts that make us shake our heads in the common hilarity that only parents understand. Here are some posts we’d like to recognize for the month of May…

Lindsay Lebresco - Don Mills Diva - Wit’s End
Why is it that when people suffer, I seem to feel better? Now that’s not as twisted as it sounds but when I read Kelly’s post about her son and his potty-training abstinence, I let out a sigh of relief. Like, “oh cool, it’s not just me with a son that might actually enter grade school in XL “Under Jams” that aren’t just for oopsies at night.”  Well maybe Kelly will have better luck but I’m already preparing my speech to Jagger’s first grade teacher… (and if you’ve been there, done that- go tell Kelly it WILL get better!)

Jon DeHart – Dadventure - I remember the first time my child
Clint at Dadventure writes about a bittersweet moment during what had been a ritual for a couple years. His “window dance” with his daughter abruptly stopped one day and he realizes as do we all at some point, that our kids are growing up – moving on. I like his acknowledgement that we pay attention to the “big” events that happen in our kids lives, but equally important is his suggestion that we focus on all the daily, little things as well.

Amy Sleep – Mom Logic – Review of My Kid’s Pretend Nail Spa
Too cute post! I just love kids’ imagination! And I’m thinking I might have to talk my 3 year old into opening a nail salon since I can’t remember the last time I got a manicure!

Erin Gilbert – Baby on Bored – I Believe
This month I chose a post from one of my new favorite blogs- Baby On Bored (the titles play on words captured me instantly!). I decided to nod “I Believe” because I do! I agree with pretty much everything Stefanie has written about (ok, ok, I may not be a huge Barry Manilow fan, not that there is anything wrong with that, but I sure do miss airplane peanuts, I never wait for a penny back from a cashier and I am secretly obsessed with Ariel). This is certainly an entertaining blog you can read if you have a baby and you are bored… if that is even possible!

Karen Hartzell- Dirt and Noise – No one cares more then girlfriends
This post brought a tear to my eye. In the chaos that is my life right now (relocating my family to Atlanta), I was reminded there are more important things in life. I know my own girlfriends will always be there for me…no matter what state I live in. Ilina reminded me to reach out to them and let them know (again) how much their freindships mean to me.

It’s the perfect storm of an adorable baby boy, a beautiful message and a strike of a sentimental note (since my little one is just weeks away from her first birthday). This illustrates that in such a short amount of time, they grow from beautiful babies to beautiful little people.
