PP’s Sweet Ride–My Ride 65
Posted by Melissa Parlaman in June 5th 2009
I am lucky that PP loves to ride in the car. Of course we have the integrated DVD players in the headrests so PP can watch her favorite movies (her latest is SpongeBob movie–don’t ask!!!) so that helps, but she really does love hopping into her car seat which is her “zone.” PP had been riding in the Graco Nautilus car seat but I recently switched over to the new Graco My Ride 65 to give it a test drive. Here are my thoughts on why I like the My Ride 65…
Even though I’m not using it rear-facing for PP, I plan on using it for “Ruby” when she is in need of a convertible car seat and I like the extended weight limit of 40 lbs. rear-facing. Like the Nautilus, the My Ride 65 holds a child up to 65 lbs in the harness which is a great feature that I won’t have to give up with this seat. The seat also has dual cup holders, which PP loves so she can keep her cup in there & her little stuffed animal in the other one and a toddler headrest pillow to add to her contentment.
Not only does PP look super comfortable & happy as she lounges in her My Ride 65 & laughs out loud to Spongebob, but I know she’s comfortable because she lasted 12 hours (don’t worry- we stopped a couple times!) in her car seat on our way down to Atlanta!

I am so excited that Graco has come out with a carseat that rear faces to 40 lbs, but unless you have a larger child, you will never make it to 40 lbs because the slots are no higher than carseats that rear face to 33 or 35 lbs. That saddens me.
That said - the Graco Nautilus is a LOVELY carseat. My son is 5 1/2 and still in it (last slot though) and its been worth every penny and more for them. I am not sold on getting the My Ride for any future children because the slots are not high enough to actually rear face long enough to get to 40 lbs. The seat would also not fit a newborn because the lowest slots are too high, even with the inserts. The purple color makes my heart thump good though
Ugh now I’m torn… I’ve been looking at the Nautilus for my 3-year-old, who’s about to outgrow the harness on her Ultra CarGo, but I like this option too since it also keeps them in a harness until 65 pounds. Will have to check this one out a bit more!
where can I find the my ride 65 in purple??? nobody seems to have that color.
thanks

Hi Marcia–there will be a purple My Ride 65 coming. The fashion name is Alma & it will be available in select Walmart stores and on walmart.com in the mid July timeframe so keep an eye open for it!
Do you know when the My Ride 65 will be released in the new pink and gray ‘Flair’ pattern? The Graco site says ‘coming soon to a Target near you’. I’m curious as to how long I should hold out for. My little girl’s quickly outgrowing her Snugride.
The Flair pattern should be hitting stores end of summer–keep an eye out for it
I was wondering if you could be a bit more specific about the release date for the Alma pattern? I am needing to purchase a new seat…I can hold off for a few weeks at most and I would realy like to get this pattern. But, if it is not going to be out until the end of July I might be out of luck and have to get another pattern. Thanks!!!
Hi Jen–our best estimate right now is end of summer (sorry so vague but we don’t have a definite in store date as of now).
When will the Bartlett pattern be available? We need two of them very soon!
Jennifer–sorry to keep giving everyone the same answer but end of summer is when we are aiming to have more fashions out in stores.
I ordered the patina bloom for my daughter… it was supposed to be shipped by the end of June…. called the company and they weren’t sure when they would be getting???? what is up with that????

Hi. I checked out the My Ride 65 in Sonata at babiesrus and loved it. I dislike infant seats!!!However, I really love the alma and flair patterns much more. I really want to hold out for those as long as I can. Any better estimated time when these will come out and if it will be available everywhere in the US?? WHen I called Graco they said I still may not be able to get it. If I can’t get it, is there a way of just ordering the alma cover straight from Graco??? Please help!!! Due to have my lil girl in August!!
Alma is available at Walmart.com now!!! Thanks!! I ordered mine already!! Can’t wait to get it!!!
Graco My RIde 65 in Flair is now available on Target.com! i just ordered mine
I just got on walmart.com looking for the Alma print and they’re out of stock again, I signed up to be notified by email, but do we know if they’re making more?
