As many of our readers know, we do something here on the Graco blog called “Monthly Nods.” It’s a little program that allows all of the Graco contributors to choose a favorite post they discovered over the last month and share it with our readers. We think it’s fun, our readers seem to enjoy when we showcase a blog/blogger they haven’t read before and of course, our Nod winners like it too! They get a small prize which they enjoy but I think it’s more the recognition that we all like to get.
We launched the monthly nods in February of 2008 and by golly wouldn’t you know that we’ve given out 99 of them! So that brings us to June and our 100th Nod winner!! Here is the nod we chose…
Full Circle: A Note to My Birth Mother
This post was Karen Hartzell’s pick and here is what Karen said about her touching choice:
Melissa’a blog is inspiring for anyone that has been adopted or hopes to adopt via a fostering program. Her emotional writing is truthful and sometimes heartbreaking, but always leaves me wanting to read more. Her recent post of a letter to her birth mom on her own 40th birthday was a beautiful tribute of understanding and appreciation. I wish strength to Melissa in her quest for motherhood in the direction she chose willingly.
Congratulations on being Graco’s 100th Nod Melissa!

How nice! I was one of those nods! AWESOME!

Oh my goodness.. I’m speechless (and that’s a rarity, let me tell ya). Thank you sooo much Karen and Lindsay!!
Melissa is wonderful and certainly more than worthy of Graco’s 100th Nod!
What a fantastic choice. I’ve been following Melissa for awhile now, and this post really was something special.
Thanks so much for sharing this with us, what a beautiful post.
Melissa is a real sweetheart and has a huge loving heart– I love this post and she is totally deserving!!
Love this, the nods are so sweet! Congrats on 100.
That was a beautiful post. I can only imagine the sacrifice and the courage it must take to give the gift of a baby…your baby…to someone else.
Thanks for doing these nods. I do enjoy them – and I was honored to be one of them.
