So I’ve been eager to get involved with the Graco blog and to write a guest post for quite a while now but I’m so happy I’ve waited because now I get to start with this big post.
My husband (JP) and I are at the point in our lives (now married for just over 4 years) where we hear the constant questioning of “when are you guys going to have little Parker’s?” Let me tell you, I have been in no rush- especially with the crazy travel schedule that comes with working for Graco out of Texas, when all of the company operations and happenings are in Pennsylvania (and now Atlanta). JP, on the other hand has been asking for Itsy Bitsy Parker for quite a while now.
Well, I have to fill you in on a cute little story. Every year around Thanksgiving, I ask JP for his “wish list” . You see, this is not only for Christmas, but JP also celebrates his birthday on December 22. I always make a point to separate the two occasions as much as possible since they are so close together and a “wish list” sure makes it easier on me and the rest of the fam. Three years ago, he sent me a list one day from work by email. It had the usual practical things on it, but it was listed by number in order of importance and the #1 item was, and I quote, “baby beagle puppy (tri-color).” He sure is specific, isn’t he? Well, he was a lucky man that year, because he was gifted EVERYTHING on his list EXCEPT for the “baby beagle puppy (tri-color).” We were (and still are) at a stage in our lives where we would pick up and go constantly. There aren’t many weekends spent lounging around the house and I felt like having a puppy would really intrude on that lifestyle AND I refused to accept the notion (and the expense) of boarding them every time we were away.
The following year I asked for JP’s wish list once again and once again, it included the usual practical things and was listed by number in order of importance, but this time there was a slight change:
1. Baby Boy
2. Baby Beagle Puppy (Tri-Color)
Once again, with loads of specificity! Not only does he want a baby, he wants a baby boy! Needless to say (and much in my favor), we were still dogless and childless.
This past year, I didn’t ask for a list because I already had a gift in mind for JP’s birthday and we had agreed to install hand-scraped wood flooring in our home as our Christmas gift to one another. I also got the feeling that he was at the point of giving up on his #1 and #2 wish list selections.
Well, here we are in July and one of JP’s wishes has come true! I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that there will be an Itsy Bitsy Parker at the end of January! Who doesn’t love Christmas in July?!

As for the puppy, I think we’ll save that for Itsy Bitsy Parker to include on his/her “wish list” one day.

Congratulations guys!!! How exciting!!!
