Loving Being Kicked!

Before I was pregnant, I always wondered what it would feel like to be pregnant and have a little life growing inside of me.  Even after I knew that I was expecting, I looked most forward to feeling those little (and not so little) wiggles, kicks, rolls, and stretches happening inside of me.

Now that I’m 38.5 weeks along, I feel like these movements are at their peak.  They are truly the highlight of my day.  They are so normal, but at the same time such a miracle.  Several times a day, I completely stop what I’m doing, just to sit and enjoy focusing on this little life moving and grooving inside of my belly—it just blows my mind!

I also love feeling all of these movements because they are a tangible way to make others, especially my husband, a larger part of my pregnancy.  My husband and I love lying on the sofa in the evenings and simply watching in awe how the baby moves from one side of my belly to the other.  It is truly a delight to watch the little one wiggle around and not even have to actually touch my skin.  The amazing thing for me is we’ve already begun the first of many wondrous moments and IBP isn’t even here yet.

Obviously, I can’t wait for the little bambino to grace us with his or her presence, but for now, I’m really enjoying being kicked, sharing it with those closest to me, and building a relationship with my little one.

I know exactly what you mean Heidi! This was by far one of my favorite things about being pregnant… it helps you get through some of the discomforts of late pregnancy :)

Oh I am really enjoying this right now too! I am 32 weeks so the room to move is getting smaller and smaller but at night me and DH love to watch our little wiggle worm move about my belly :)
