Graco’s Spring Get One Give One #4 – In Honor of Mom!

For our final Graco Get One Give One this spring, today’s gift and donation is one of my personal favorites, a Graco Nautilus 3-in-1 Car Seat!

The Graco Nautilus grows with your child, keeping her secure in a 5-point harness up to 65 lbs. When she’s ready, it converts to a belt-positioning booster from 30-100 lbs.

From there, the Nautilus transitions into either a Highback or Backless booster for a comfortable fit up to 100 lbs. Extensively crash tested, including side-impact testing, outfitted with reinforced steel and thoughtfully designed with plush comfort features, this 3-in-1 car seat is will last your little travel companion well into childhood.

Check out this video that gives some basic steps on how to install the Graco Nautilus Car Seat with a 5-point harness:

I’d love to win this for my aunt who doesn’t have much money and dedicated her whole life to children. She has 2 biological sons, 3 adopted kids (1 from India and 2 from Ethiopia) and in the process of adopting one of the kids’ brother from Ethiopia also. Not to mention she was a foster parent for many many years. She’d definitely need one car seat and I would also love to win one as I have a 2 year-old and am expecting in July… Thanks for the chance

I would love to win this for a gal at my MIL’s work who just had a baby (she has an infant car seat) unexpectedly. The office has been collecting items for her, single mother, other kiddos and kinda struggling. We want her to not worry about the supplies & just enjoy her new baby. And I wouldn’t mind getting a decent car seat for my little guy either. Thanks.

In our town, we have a church that runs a weekly “pantry” for needy local families. They do not have food…they have toiletries, clothes and other items. A few weeks ago, I watched a mom come in looking for a birthday present for her daughter. 95% of the clothing and toys are used, and she didn’t care, she was just looking for something special. In the past I’ve seen families come in simply looking for winter hats and mittens for their kids.

When I think of the impact a new car seat might have on a local family…I’d love to be able to give that kind of gift to a needy mom this Mother’s Day.

I don’t know any families, personally, that would really be in need. What I would do is give this to my pediatrician to give to someone she knows that would be able to use it. A good parent who tries hard to keep their little one safe in the car but might not be able to afford such a great seat as this. She would know of the perfect family

I have Nautilus for my 3 year old and I love it!!! My almost 5 year old is asking to be put in one now since he is under the harnessing weight. I would love to win it for my friend. Her daughter finally confessed she was pregnant 4 days before the baby was born. Money is very short and I’d love to be able to help them out with a great car seat for the future.

would use this for my brother’s wife, who is due in June with their first baby. She works a lot (they both do!) and i think that they really deserves somethign special for her hard work! All her baby things have been from garage sales. She does not use any goverment assistance, even though they could qualify, she does it herself, something brand new would really be great to have for her.thank you.

I would love to win a Nautilus to give to my SIL and BIL for my niece; they’ll be passing down her convertibles to my infant nephew when he outgrows his infant seat soon, and winning a Nautilus for them would be one less seat they have to buy. I’d use the other one for my 5 year old.

I also posted about this on Twitter (@AnotherBree).

I do hope that Graco will make sure that whoever wins this Nautilus understands that it’s not an appropriate seat for an infant. Some of the entries seem to state or imply that the writers plan to use it for their own infants or other young children who should be rear-facing. Maybe those posting such comments are misinterpreting the term 3-in-1 to be a rear-facing/forward-facing/highback booster rather than the forward-facing/highback booster/backless booster that the Nautilus actually is. I just hope Graco will clarify for the winner, particularly if the winner is one that mentioned using it for a baby in the winning comment. Perhaps you would consider giving such a winner a MyRide 65 that would allow them to rear-face instead of a Nautilus.

I would love to get this for my sister who had a little boy just 3 weeks before I did in March. As we all know babies grow so fast and we both will be in need of bigger carseats in a blink of an eye. My sister doesn’t have the extra money to buy a great carseat and I would love to surprise her with this gift.

What a wonderful way to honor Mother’s! Great Promotion. I would love to give my daughter, Serena, this gift. Her little boy is due in July, and she is a single mother to two older children age 13 and 8 yrs. old. My oldest grandchild is also Autistic, with several medical issues as well. Needless to say this baby was a surprise at a time when she thought her family was complete, so she has struggled to get the basics to start with. Her oldest son was in the hospital last summer with fluid on the brain, and did not go back to school until February of this year. During this time, while on Family Medical Leave, she was laid off from her job. She is a wonderful mother and deserves the best. Thank you again for this contest and for considering Serena.

I would give one to my mom, who quit her job to be able to watch my kids while I am at work.

  14. Kathleen May 8, 2010 at 10:06 am #

I’d give this to my best friend who is unexpectedly pregnant with her second child (failed IUD). She’s stretched thin with both her budget and her time, since her husband works out of town. I love the idea behind this car seat!

  15. Victoria May 8, 2010 at 5:55 pm #

This would be so great to win especially since we have to keep switching our Nautilus between three cars several times a week! I would give one to my friend for her daughter. They are struggling right now with the economy in a small town and their daughter has almost outgrown her convertible seat. She does everything she can for her kids and car seat safety is a big deal for her and I, it would be so great to know that her daughter could stay harnessed longer!

  16. Leenette May 8, 2010 at 5:58 pm #

I would love one for myself and one for our Center for Women in Transition. I really need a new seat, as I have one that I am using well past it’s expiration date, and can’t afford to replace it. The Center provides shelter and resources for women and children escaping abusive homes. Many times they only grab the bare essentials when leaving, and can’t afford to start over fresh. This would be a tremendous help for those in need. Thank you!

  17. Alicia May 8, 2010 at 6:00 pm #

Would love to win this and donate one of them.

  18. Nicole May 8, 2010 at 6:12 pm #

I could really use this, as I am pregnant right now and have a 2.5 year old. If I’d win, I’d donate the other to a local Catholic Charities group.

  19. Amanda Cruz May 8, 2010 at 6:47 pm #

I would give this to my sister! She is in need of a car seat for my 14 month old niece. She is still putting her in the infant car seat, due to money reasons. This would make her so happy and my niece would be safe! Thanks for the chance Graco!- I could use the other one myself (pregnant with my fourth baby)

I would like to nominate A Woman’s Choice Resource Center/Necole’s Place in Louisville, KY. It is a center for women who have found themselves dealing with unplanned pregnancies. They counsel women and stand by them throughout the entire pregnancy, providing them with free medical care, pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and maternity clothes, as well as baby supplies (diapers, formula, wipes, baby food, clothing, furniture, etc), job training, mentoring, parenting classes, etc after the babies are born. They are constantly in need of supplies for the women that seek help from the center and give generously to anyone who seeks their help. If A Woman’s Choice/Necole’s Place is chosen, both carseats would go to help women truly in need.

  21. Jordan May 8, 2010 at 7:06 pm #

I would like to nominate my mom’s best friend’s daughter (got that? :-) ) as she has an almost one year old that will definitely need a secure carseat that can grow with her as she’s pretty big for her age. They do not have a lot of money and have struggled to keep employment in this economy.

  22. Kelsey May 8, 2010 at 7:06 pm #

Winning a new carseat for my daughter would just be an answered prayer! She is getting to big for her carseat and I can’t afford to buy her a new one. My husband was given a medical discharge april 2009 and we found out I was pregnant with our second child 3 weeks after so money has been very tight ever since he has really struggled finding a job. If I did win I would love to send the other one to my friend in Az who is also a struggling military wife and mother of two, she could use one just as badly as myself if not more.
thankyou graco for making it safe for our babies on the road!

  23. Maria May 8, 2010 at 9:43 pm #

My best friend has a son that is three months older then mine and she is in dire need of a new seat. She was there for me when i found out I was pregnant and she was there to be my second birthing coach when I had him. She Is an amazing woman and a great mother and a full time student as well as a good wife. She is currently using a hand me down seat that is almost expired and I know that she cannot afford to get Austyn a new seat. I think that she is a most deserving woman and could use a hand! If I had the money I would buy her a new seat myself but we are tight on money now too since we do not have insurance and had to take my Fiance to the ER today (he has pneumonia and has already missed 3 days of work and will be missing at least 2 more as per DRs orders…Thank you for making it possible for my son to be safe in the car!

  24. Carissa Jacobsen May 8, 2010 at 10:28 pm #

This may sound very selfish, but I could really use a new car seat for my daughter. My baby’s car seat got recalled and we are so tight on money right now that we can’t afford to get a new one yet.I would use the other one for my little sister, for my soon to be niece or nephew. Thank you!!

  25. Katri Saarinen May 9, 2010 at 11:34 am #

My son does not need another car seat. We have a high harnessing seat in each vehicle, one of them being a Graco Nautilus.

However, I have a good friend who is a single mother to a 3 year old girl. She works full time (a near minimum wage job) to provide for her daughter and herself while attending college full time to become an elementary school teacher. Her daughter’s shoulders are literally at the level of the highest harness slots and I have recommended that she purchase the Graco Nautilus instead of putting her in a high-back booster. She simply cannot afford the cost of a Nautilus at this time. I am afraid that she will either keep her daughter in a car seat that is too small for her, or put her in a booster for which her daughter is not ready. State law requires her to be in a harness until age 4, unless she crosses 40 lbs. She is currently 38 lbs and even if she makes it to 40 lbs soon, it is so much safer to keep any child in a harness as long as possible! Please help this mother keep her daughter in a harnessed seat! I would donate the second seat to a child in need at my son’s daycare. I see children in old/expired and outgrown seats on a daily basis and wish to make a difference in one family’s lives. That one seat could save a child’s life. Thank you for keeping children safe!

My daughter has an 11 week old son and her husband has recently lost his job. My daughter is suppose to start the nursing program in the fall so therefore she has not went back to work. She is enjoying the time with her new son and was hoping to be able to be an at home mom until she finishes school and receives her nursing degree. Will definetely need a new car seat soon. I would like the other one to go to a friend of my other daughter. She has always had a rough life living with her single mom and not having much as she was growing up. She is expecting a child in July and is in need of any help she can get. Both these girls are very caring and loving and would do anything to help others.

  27. Aura May 9, 2010 at 8:26 pm #

I have a friend with 8 going on 9 children and she is still using her original carseat, without the fabric for one of her children. The other ones she found in the trash or received hand me downs. She literally has no money and she has a sick child. I would love for her to have both carseats.

  28. Marina May 9, 2010 at 10:46 pm #

A youth Pastor and their wife have 2 little ones and so need to replace their car seat and I know this would really bless them
