Every year I hear the story about how my dad teased my mom while she was in labor that if she didn’t have me before Mother’s Day was over she was getting the present he got her (she juuuuust made it!) and that when they finally brought me home, it was in a SNOW STORM. In MAY. Well, that’s Syracuse for you.
This year, I went back to Syracuse to spend Mother’s Day with my parents and grandparents. It was so great to get three generations together and celebrate the day, now that we’re a little scattered across the country.
We spent the weekend talking and eating and catching up – all of that great family stuff. And when we woke up on Mother’s Day morning, we couldn’t believe our eyes when we looked out the window and saw SNOW on the ground!
After 27 years, we had come full circle – the whole family together and a rare dusting of snow on Mother’s Day. We couldn’t have asked for anything more.
How did you celebrate your Mother’s Day this year?
