Babies ‘R Us Buckle Up & Boogie Car Seat Event

Whether it is choosing the right infant car seat or deciding what’s next for your child as she grows, we know there is a lot that goes into finding the perfect seat to keep your little one safe and comfy.

All year long, Graco has teamed up with Babies “R” Us to sponsor the Buckle Up & Boogie Car Seat Workshop – a MUST for first-time parents looking to learn the basics of selecting the approriate car seat.

Held on the third Tuesday of each month, this workshop is led by the knowledgeable in-store team at Babies “R” Us and reviews the essentials of car seat safety, installation tips and recommendations for proper use. Questions are encouraged throughout the workshop, and this event can also be a great refresher for experienced parents who are trying to determine if their child needs to transition to another seat.

Please join Graco this upcoming Tuesday, May 25th at 6:30pm at your nearest Babies “R” Us store for the next Buckle Up and Boogie Event. No reservation is required, but feel free to RSVP on Facebook here!

Safe travels!

I’ve attended a few of these and found them, as a Child Passenger Safety Technician, frankly rather horrifying. Misinformation abounds, including the recommendation of “essential” aftermarket products, and, well, I hope everyone who goes to these knows enough to do their own research.

The baby pictured in that Nautilus is way too little to be forward facing :(

As a Child Passenger Safety Technician, I do wish TRU made more of an effort to work with local CPS tech’s to get the correct information to parents. I *hate* seeing staff give out car seat advise that is wrong and not best up to date information. They should either give out NO advice, or have someone on staff trained as a CPS to provide the correct advice.

And that child, while probably over 1 and over 22lbs, could be safer rear facing. It would be nice to see some children more at the upper end of the limits of seats vs. the bare minimums. Most of the advertisements I see do have bare minimums and it’s a shame because BRU has quite a bit of impact on what parents today are doing.

Our 26 month old daughter unbuckled her new Graco Nautilus seat after only 5 or so trips. We were on the highway and she jumped in between the two front seats before we knew what was happening.

We bought this car seat for our second car and have an Evenflo seat in the car we use most; she has never been able to free herself from the Evenflo. We had to buy a seat on the way home from work today (another Evenflo to be safe) and will try to return the Graco seat tomorrow. I cannot figure out how an infant seat that is supposed to restrain children is so easy to unbuckle but thought I would pass this on as other families might benefit from this information.
