Graco GOGO #3: Graco My Ride 65 Convertible Car Seat Giveaway and Donation

Its day 3 of Graco’s Get One Give One program this holiday season! We love to give back and we know you do too – so here’s a simple way to do something good for someone else AND get something free for yourself:

Comment at the bottom of this post to tell us about a person or organization that you think is deserving of the product we’re featuring today and why. We’ll select one of your comments at random and both you and your nominee could win that day’s prize! Here’s some more information on Graco Get One Give One and how to participate.

Now, for today’s prize!

The Graco My Ride 65 Convertible Car Seat is perfect for parents looking for a car seat that is both rear-facing and forward-facing.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends your child ride rear-facing as long as possible (up to two years old) — and My Ride 65 stays rear-facing up to 40 lbs – longer than most other car seats in the US. Then, it secures your forward-facing child in a 5-point harness until he is 65 lbs. (The American Academy of Pediatrics also recommends your child stay harnessed as long as possible.)

Other features like EPS, energy absorbing foam, side-impact testing*, removable infant insert and toddler headrest help keep your child snug and secure on all of his journeys.

Today’s Graco GOGO giveaway features the My Ride 65 Convertible Car Seat in MAVO. This brand NEW fashion will be coming soon exclusively at Walmart.

We can’t wait to hear your stories. Come back tomorrow for another chance to win and give!

*Side-impact tested for occupant retention by the harness system.

** Entries are now closed – thanks to everyone who participated. The winner is Ashley M! Ashley, Graco will be in touch shortly to get you your prize!

  29. Ashley December 15, 2010 at 11:14 pm #

I Would love to win this car seat and be able to harness my children longer. We have been very financially strapped because of a heart condition my son was born with. It caused up to miss alot of work and time away from home. Not to mention medical expenses. Winning this seat would be such an amazing thing. I would donate the other seat to a family that greatly needs it. Either a family through church or a fellow heart family from my son’s hospital. It would definitley find a much needed home! Thanks so much for the opportunity!

I would love to donate a Graco My Ride 65 Convertible Car Seat to a family at the Ronald McDonald house in San Antonio, Texas. After spending a few days in the hospital with my middle child (two yrs ago). I met two families who were struggling financially, staying at the Ronald McDonald House, and had a babies in NICU. One family in particular was getting prepared to bring their baby home within the next few days (with the exception of them having some necessities they had no money for a car seat). They were searching for a second hand one. My heart broke for them. The thought of a mother going into labor early and still not fully prepared for bringing a baby home is a big weight on parents shoulders. Especially when the baby is sick and in the NICU. Then when they get the okay to bring baby home they must scramble to get all the necessities for baby. I would love to be able to give a family one less thing to worry about.

  31. Sarah F. December 15, 2010 at 11:49 pm #

I would donate one to my sister in law! They are in the student situation, like us, and are having their first! I know this would be a real blessing to them. They are always thinking of others and how to give things to those around them–time someone stopped and really got them something they could use! :D

  32. Katie Thurman December 16, 2010 at 12:01 am #

There is a local family by me who recently had a housefire and lost everything. They have a baby who is about 7 months old. I would donate the carseat to them.

  33. Kimberlee December 16, 2010 at 12:26 am #

Would love to have a carseat for Daddy! The other would to to Dorothy – a teenage mom getting ready to complete her degree – way to go Dorothy!!

  34. Jodie W December 16, 2010 at 12:32 am #

I would keep one for my 3 month old little boy and donate the other to a good friend who expecting her first and her husband was killed a few weeks ago in a car wreck. Im sure she would be very greatful!

  35. Owen's Mom December 16, 2010 at 1:02 am #

I would donate the car seat to our local battered person’s advocacy shelter. Many of those women flee dangerous situations with only the clothes on their back. I know they would find a great deserving home for the car seat. I know we could use the other one as my oldest is outgrowing his. I love that it goes up to 40lbs. My 3 year old is only 27 lbs right now!

I would like to donate this car seat to the Hope pregnancy center in my home town! They are doing wonderful things for young pregnant moms and new moms! Thanks for the chance!

  38. Jennifer Kruse December 16, 2010 at 1:23 am #

I would give this to the local Battered Person’s Advocacy. There are so many women out there who need help after leaving an abusive situation and this would go a long way towards helping one of those women.

  39. Heidi Gabrish December 16, 2010 at 2:11 am #

I would give this to a friend of mine who was surprized to find out she was having twins. With two others at home shes a little over welmed, but they are great people and would do anything for anyone if they have the means.

  40. Heather Slater December 16, 2010 at 2:14 am #

I don’t have a need for this seat, as we already have a Graco convertible car seat. However, if I were to win, I would donate BOTH to a local home for families in transition, the Hebron House. My workplace has sponsored many families there this holiday season, and the car seats would be an amazing gift. Thank you Graco, you are doing a wonderful thing with this promotion! :)

  41. breanne C December 16, 2010 at 2:31 am #

I would love this carseat and if I can get the money will be buying it. My current Graco carseat I don’t like very much. But I would love to donate one to my friend Lauren. She gets all her baby stuff hamidown, which so do I but she also got her carseat as one and I would love it if she could have one so that she could know her child is safe. She trys so hard. Thank you for the chance to win.

  42. Heather S December 16, 2010 at 3:01 am #

I would give the carseat to Interfaith Friends, a local organization in my town that helps stuggling families.

  43. Terry K. December 16, 2010 at 3:15 am #

I would give this car seat to my daughter. She is expecting her second child in April, she has been having money issues this past year to being layed off. This would really help her out!

  44. Abby Lewis December 16, 2010 at 4:56 am #

Ooooo…this would be great! My husband has been unemployed for a year and a half and I’m on disability. We’re expecting in Feb and don’t have a car seat yet. I would give the second one to the Ronald McDonald House in Seattle. They do such great work with families who have sick children.

  45. Maria December 16, 2010 at 5:09 am #

I would love to win this for a mother who is in a wheelchair and has 6 children and one of them is just at this stage of needing a forward-facing carseat the would be really thankful for this!!!!!Merry Christmas

  46. Audra D December 16, 2010 at 5:18 am #

I would give the seat to the Women’s Center in the Chicago area. They help pregnant women in need with a variety of services. They helped my husband and I and I would love to be able to return the favor.

  47. Christine Lanza December 16, 2010 at 5:38 am #

I would give the car seat to my friend, Lauren, who’s a single mother, raising her 7 month old son by herself. I wish I could do more for her.

  48. Laurie Webb December 16, 2010 at 5:51 am #

I would give this carseat to my sister. She is pregnant with her third baby due Dec.27,2010. During her pregnancy her husband lost his job due to down sizing and hasn’t been able to find employment yet. She has continued to work through her pregnancy even though she has had complications with her legs. Being a former quality tech for Graco in Macedonia,Ohio I know what a great product this is. I would be so happy to win this for her and give her the peace of mind that her baby will be safe.

  49. Jacky December 16, 2010 at 5:58 am #

I would give this to my sister in law. She is due with her first baby in March and lives in India where most people don’t even buy car seat for babies. Usually babies just ride in their parent’s lap and I can tell you it is definately not safe driving in the crazy traffic there. I don’t know if she has a car seat yet, but this one would be much better quality than what she would find locally.

  50. Heather K December 16, 2010 at 8:21 am #

I would give it to a needy military family, stationed in Germany.
