Introducing the New Pack ‘n Play Playard with Cuddle Cove Rocking Seat

Having recently joined Graco as part of the Playard team, I have to say that I was stunned by all the innovation and exciting features that had been developed for playards. Graco Pack ‘n Plays now have Newborn Napper Stations perfect for cuddling babies just home from the hospital and breathable fabrics in fashions inspired by Paris runway shows (how do I get in on that work trip??). Well, the latest and greatest Pack ‘n Play definitely does not disappoint.

The Pack ‘n Play Playard with Cuddle Cove Rocking Seat actually comes with a rocker that you can remove from the playard to keep baby nearby. It also docks into the playard as a convenient, cozy place for baby to nap. In addition to the Graco-exclusive rocking seat, this Pack ‘n Play comes with all of the features you would want for an in-home care center, including an electronics module that has light, sounds, and vibration. Even diaper changes are easier with the convenient changing table and organizer with three cubbies.

Here is a list of all of the features:

Removable vibrating rocking seat helps you bring baby close to you
Cuddle Cove™ Rocking Seat includes carrying handles to help easily move baby
Playard designed to grow with your little one from newborn to infant to toddler
Cuddle Cove™ Rocking Seat with luxurious styled, soft fabrics to cuddle baby
Gentle vibration in both rocking seat and bassinet helps calm your baby
Cuddle Cove™ Rocking Seat fabric is machine washable
Enhanced electronics module with vibration soothes and entertains your little one
Canopy on Cuddle Cove™ rocking seat shields baby from bright light
Changer with cushioned, quilted rim for more comfortable diaper changing
Three cubbies to keep baby’s essentials close at hand
Convenient carrying bag

I am really impressed with this new Pack ‘n Play and I hope that all the moms out there find it to be as great as I do. The Pack ‘n Play Playard with Cuddle Cove Rocking Seat was just released in January, but if you are a mom that is already using it, how would you rate it? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

    Hi Lauren,

Can you comment on why the cuddle cove is NOT available for separate purchase to use on the 100′s of thousands of pack-n-play playards parent’s already own?

  4. Lauren Westin March 16, 2011 at 6:53 pm #

    Hi James,

That’s a great question, and one that I have received from other people as well. The Cuddle Cove rocking seat requires special parts that are built into the bassinet of this specific playard to keep it stationary once it is ‘docked’. These extra parts hold the rocking seat in place and so that baby can nap safely.

  7. I truly enjoyed Graco Heart to Heart Blog – Introducing the New Pack ‘n Play Playard with Cuddle Cove Rocking Seat. Zero-point energy is a lowest possible energy than a quantum mechanical physical system could have; it is the vitality of its ground condition.

Are there any additional assembly instructions? The one that came with it, is not easy to follow.

Hi Rachel – Is there a specific part that you are having trouble with? We can try to help you more. Thanks!

Hi Kelly – I can’t find my instructions for the Electronics module. I don’t want to take it apart and break it, and there isn’t an obvious battery compartment. Do you have link for the Electronics module instructions?

    Dear Lauren or Kelly,

I’m due at the end of March 2012 and am interested in purchasing the Graco Playard with napper and change table in the classic Pooh design. I would love to have the cuddle cove rocking seat come with it. Is that possible? Even if the seat is a different design it wouldn’t matter.

    Hi Belinda,

While we don’t currently offer the Cuddle Cove model in this fashion, we do offer the original Newborn Napper(TM) in the Classic Pooh fashion and can be found here:

    Hi Lauren,

Great review – thank you! I am looking into either purchasing the Newborn Napper playard or the Cuddle Cove playard. I am wondering what the benefits of the newborn napper are over the cuddle cove? Isn’t the cuddle cove essentially almost the same bassinet, but with just the option to use as a rocker? Are either or both safe to use as the infant’s sleeping bassinet for the first couple month? I am limited with space at the moment, so wondered if I needed a separate baby bassinet or if either of these would suffice.
Hope you can clarify, I haven’t been able to find a clear answer on this anywhere. Thanks in advance!!

    Best regards,

    Hi Laurie,

The Cuddle Cove Rocking Seat is removable and you can use it outside of the playard while the Newborn Napper must be used within the playard. And both are great for newborns napping – thus the name. :) Parents often use the bassinet section of their playard for their newborn’s sleeping space in the first months.

    Warm regards,

Ahhh – Thank you SOOO much! Just the answer I was hoping for :)

My son is 3 1/2 months. Is it safe to use this PNP for overnight sleeping next to my bed? I don’t trust breathable bumpers for the crib in his room and just realized the PNP has 2 sides not mesh?

  24. Lauren Westin May 21, 2012 at 11:48 am #

    Hi Shay,

You are fine, but I think the instruction manual says it best, “When used for sleeping, you must still provide the supervision necessary for the continued safety of your child.”
