Crafty Kids: Egg Hunt Bag

Spring has definitely sprung down in Atlanta, and with Easter coming a little later this year, I can imagine all the fun egg hunts that are being planned!  I used to love love love hunting for eggs, especially the prized golden egg, that usually contained one, whole, dollar bill.  I never found it – but we can all dream big.

If you are feeling a little crafty – I found this great tutorial on Purl Bee, a wonderful website that features crafts for kids of all ages. This project steps you through how to make an adorable little egg hunt bag. This tutorial lends itself really well to the beginning sewer (no hems here!) or if you want to nix the thread and go the hot-glue route…I would imagine that would work just fine. Who knows – maybe this bag could give your little egg-hunter just the edge they need to find that prized golden egg.  Happy crafting!

Welcome to the team Megan! You have me inspired to try something like this (and I don’t even have kids). Can’t wait to see more of your creative ideas!

What a great first post Megan! My girls love the easter hunt. Back home my mom does the Bronze, Silver and Golden egg. She hates to see any of her grands without. The bags are so cute, I will definitely look into the site. I’m sure my girls would enjoy using their creativity.
