Summer Break is Coming to an End

It’s been 6 weeks of mommy time! I have enjoyed every bit of it, but as always, the time is quickly approaching for the girls to return. I miss them and really do appreciate the break, but I do love being a mom. I enjoy doing activities and having fun with my girls. There have been many times this summer when I wished they were here so I could attend kid fun events with them, especially since they are getting older and won’t want to be bothered soon.

The girls have admitted that they are ready to return home and that the last couple of weeks are dragging for them. They are enrolled in Camp this year in New York for the first time and have been enjoying the activities. Kalia, calls every day to remind me that her vacation is over and she is ready to go. Poor thing, she misses her bed, mommy’s cooking, her room and home (so she says), but realizes it’s only a few more weeks and says she will make due.

I’m debating whether or not to do a welcome back party with it being so close to children returning to school when they get back, but we shall see. I also think it’s time to do some upgrades in their bedrooms, they are getting bigger and the baby stuff needs to go. Last but not least, I have to start looking into which after school activities they will do this semester. Piano is an ongoing activity, but Kiara has been longing to take on basketball and I would like to get Kalia on a soccer team. Of course they will have their opinions, but we usually find a middle ground. :-)

With back to school right around the corner, shopping, activities and room upgrades I think I will make sure I get lots more relaxation during my last couple of weeks before they return home ;-) Party???

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

aww they’d be so excited for a welcome back party! I really think these are the most precious times of their childhood: making friends and fun memories at camp, playing their hearts out, and bonding times with mom! Going off to camp and that coming home feeling is exciting too!
