a little Friday fun to share with you

Excerpt from a phone call I received today:

Here comes Trouble!Kate: Hello?

Nannie: Kate, this is your mother.  Kate, how do you spell your daughter’s name?

Kate (confused & wondering, “Did I spell Gracie’s name wrong somewhere?  Uh oh…”) G-R-A-C-I-E

Nannie: NO. Let me spell it for you.  T-R-O-U-B-L-E.  And that’s with a CAPITAL T.

Kate: Oh no…

Nannie, to my daughter:  Trouble, your mother is on the phone and she would like to tell you your name!

Gracie: (on the phone breathing)

Kate: Oh Gracie, what have you done now??  :)

What sort of trouble has your toddler gotten into lately?  And, is it as hard for you as it is for me not to LAUGH when you’re supposed to be stern?  Happy Friday!

Oh how I know the language that you speak!! :)

Just last month I blogged about how my just turned 2 year old, PJ, somehow got ahold of a dry erase marker and decided to “decorate” for me. http://kstownsend.blogspot.com/2011/08/im-sowwee-mommy.html My version of laughing is often to grab the camera to capture all these moments that we will in fact someday file in the back of my mind and forget. All these laughing “trouble” moments I really don’t want to forget so I document with visual evidence, not only does it make great blogging material, but someday it will make for good “ammo” for later. (Perhaps a wedding video!)

One christmas my nephew who was 5 went missing for 5mins, we went into the kitchen and found him headfirst in a chocolate gateau – hands, face, pyjamas, the lot covered in chocolate – not forgetting half of it in his chops. We still laugh about it now and he is 16.
