Introducing TurboBooster® with Safety Surround™

As parents ourselves, children’s safety is always our top priority – from infancy all the way up until we send them off to college (they grow up fast, believe us!). With this in mind, Graco is excited to introduce our new TurboBooster® with Safety Surround™ Side Impact Protection, which offers THE BEST head and body protection at each stage.

When you look at the seat, you can actually see the upgrades with the addition of Safety Surround technology, which is integrated into the headrest and the side wings on the backrest. This seat truly grows with your child to help safely transport your “big kid” from 30 – 100 lbs. in highback mode and from 40 – 100 lbs. in backless mode. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children stay in a belt-positioning booster seat booster until they are at least 4’9” and 8 – 12 years old.

We know that kids sometimes want to be done with booster seats, wanting to show their “big kid” independence, riding in regular car seats. However, TurboBooster with Safety Surround comes in four solid colors (Dahlia™, Pearson™, Rush™ & Harrington™), that will make riding in this seat  fashionable and cool.

Okay, so we covered the safety and the fashion, but here are some other great reasons to love  TurboBooster with Safety Surround:

  • It features Safety Surround™ Side Impact Protection which truly grows with your child at each stage offering the best head and body protection. Okay, I know we said that already, but it’s a great feature – worth stating twice!
  • It’s more rigorously crash tested than many Highback booster seats on the market- in addition to meeting or exceeding U.S. safety standards this seat meets both Graco’s side impact testing and Europe’s draft side impact standard
  • It helps safely transport your “big kid” from 30-100 lbs. in a fun, fashionable way
  • It builds on the Graco Turbobooster seat which is top rated by leading consumer magazines and publications
  • It easily converts to backless booster for years of use
  • It features EPS, energy absorbing foam for effective impact energy management
  • It comes with a fully-adjustable headrest keeps your growing child secure
  • The open-loop belt guides help you correctly position your vehicle’s seat belt
  • And, the padded, height-adjustable armrests and hide-away cup holders keep kids smiling

Looks great, I’m excited to check it out but I don’t know any ‘big’ kids who are 30#. I know 2 and 3yo who are 30# and they have no business using this seat.

Does it have a 5 point harness? New safety recommendations tell parents to keep children rear facing for as long as the carseat allows. Then to move them forward to a five point harness until they are big enough for a seatbelt. I have seen crash test videos. I encourage all parents to do research! Is this product encouraging unsafe behavior by parents that don’t read up on the latest safety recommendations?
Proud parent of a 3.5 year old still rear facing!!!

They look really nice but its so disappointing to see a 3 yr min on them. Almost no child is emotionally mature enough to be in a booster even at 4 let alone 3. The age suggestions on all Graco car seat, except infant seats, needs to be raised to a safe age, not the min size crash dummy that passed the testing.

I agree that the seats look reall nice, but there is no way I would even put my 4 year old in a seat like this, much less my 3 year old. Both of my boys use the Graco Nautilus, which will harness to 65lbs! I feel much better having them in a 5 point harness for as long as possible. In fact, I will soon have to purchase another set of seats for my DH’s truck, and will most likley buy the Nautilus again.

Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this blog. It’s simple, yet effective.

A lot of times it’s difficult to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and visual appearance. I must say you have done a superb job with this. Also, the blog loads super fast for me on Opera. Exceptional Blog!
