“Gearing-Up” for the 4th of July

The Fourth of July is right around the corner, and often that means traveling to visit family or friends (if you’re lucky, maybe a visit to a beach, mountain or lake house!). We know that there’s a ton of gear that comes with taking care of baby, but here are some great products from Graco to help minimize the amount of “stuff” that you have to bring while being out & about.

First and foremost, your Graco SnugRide infant car seat allows you to easily & quickly attach your infant car seat to the infant car seat base in your car (or your husband’s) and into a Graco stroller. For the quick trips (it’s also great for the airport!), the SnugRider frame is super-compact & light but still has room for a diaper bag and your drink. When you arrive at your destination, you can create an instant swing with your Graco infant car seat with the SnugGlider, an infant car seat swing frame.

Other products that make traveling with baby easier are the Pack n Play with Automatic Folding Feet and DuoDiner 3-in-1 highchair. Our “on the go” Pack n Play with folding feet features a frame that folds 20% more compactly and a unique reach-through bassinet so you can quickly fold the playard without having to dissemble it. Now, you may wonder why I am recommending our full-size highchair, the DuoDiner as a travel item. My advice is that you use the booster portion of the highchair when you travel. Once you get to your friend’s house, grandmom’s, a restaurant, etc…, simply attach the booster to just about any chair & you instantly have a high chair. What’s great about the DuoDiner is that you don’t have to sacrifice any features when using the highchair in booster mode–you can still have a reclining seat for the younger babies, a dishwasher safe tray insert, and a machine washable seat pad that provides not only comfort for your baby but also convenience for you when she decides to paint the seat pad with puréed carrots.

Last, but not least (and this is something that I still take with me when I travel with my 3 year old) is the Sweet Slumber Sound Machine. The sound machine provides a soothing and consistent sleep environment for your baby. It has heartbeat/womb sounds, nature sounds, classical music and you can even plug your MP3 player into it (once my kids finally outgrow the sound machine, then I can use it to play my MP3!). Actually, both of my kids still use the Sweet Slumber in their room, so we have gotten years of use out of this product. There is even a nightlight on the top of the sound machine too—it’s a very versatile product!

It is hard to travel light with Baby, but now you can travel smart with these Graco travel products (from a mom that has had to travel with two kiddos). Enjoy your journeys with your Baby!
