Last year, I was a mom of 4 that promised herself she was going to get healthy & fit, & lose 100 pounds. I successfully lost 38 pounds from January to April – Then I got pregnant !! I’m due in 4 weeks. I’ve gained 20 pounds back, but overall I’ve been eating a healthy, balanced, low carb diet. This year, my resolution is to get right back on track after baby arrives – no excuses! I’m going to lose the rest of that 100. I know I can!

Being that one of my children is now a teenager I find my patience is lacking more than it has been in the past. I resolve to try to regain my patience back and get through the teenage years without keeping my son grounded for the next 4 years of his life. I need to find better methods and different ways to deal with these next trying years.

I just learned about this wonderful GRACO blog site from a dear friend of mine and must say how exciting it is to see so many giveaways! The excitement and hope it brings to others are simply priceless!!
As for new year’s resolution, I want to be even more proactive in donating to families in need. Nowadays as I walk down the streets of NYC, I see more and more homeless parents begging for money or food with their children on the streets. It is very unfortunate that children, the biggest victims by far, have to suffer and be exposed to hardships at such young delicate age.
I came from a family of five, living in a 600sq ft studio apartment. I remember having been told countless number of times by my slightly older siblings that my mom and dad (a seamstress and a waiter who were making below minimum wage at the time) could not afford to buy me any toys. As such, I accepted any hand-me downs, whether it be clothes or toys, so that my parents could make ends meet. My parents on the other hand though, did everything they could to shield me and give me the positive childhood that all kids deserved, whether it be working overtime or skipping out on extra meal, so that I can guarded against the true reality of financial hardships they endured.
Having been on the other side, I truly want to be a more generous and giving person to those in needs on the streets, for no child should be told that they cannot have the childhood they deserve. Being a new parent just this past year, I truly now understand that we all share the common goal of protecting and giving our children the very best they deserve, but at times like this, all we can give for sure is our unconditional love and undivided attention, hoping one day they will understand the love we had given them is far more priceless than what any tangible items can give.
