Position at Graco: Sr. Demand Planner

How long at Graco: Almost 2 years

My favorite kids: All of them. I especially love babies! Oh, and of course my 4 year old daughter, “Baby” and Baby # 2 (on the way) top the list. Like this surprises anyone?

Latest “wondrous” moment: Back on my daughter’s last day at a home day care, she received a book from her care giver, Maria. Baby was so excited to “read” it to Mommy the evening she brought it home. Little did I know she had the entire book memorized! I was completely in awe of the different tones and inflections Baby used while “reading” to me. I couldn’t help but just stare at her the entire time. We read a lot of books at home together and Baby has recited memorized lines before (i.e.: “Little pig, little pig, let me come in.” or “Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin.”), but never a whole book. I can only imagine the number of times Maria must have read it to Baby. The love Maria had for Baby was also being channeled through those spoken words. We read that book 5 more times that evening, and at most bedtimes since. It’s now my favorite children’s book.

Most memorable firsts: First haircut for Baby. Why? Because she had so little hair for so long, we waited what seemed like forever for that first trim. Auntie Kimmy, my sister/hairdresser, trimmed Baby’s hair right in the middle of her dining room table during a visit to her in Florida. Baby was almost 2 for that first cut! Now at 4, Baby occasionally asks “Auntie Kimmy, can you come cut my hair?” via cell phone. How can Auntie Kimmy resist that request? I am sure we will see her soon enough if Baby keeps asking.

You just have to know this about me: I used to be extremely shy. After graduating high school, I spent the summer working at an old time photography studio. I “burst out of my shell” just in time to start college in the fall. I haven’t stopped talking since.

If someone dumped out my purse they would find: Purse??? That was replaced by a diaper bag over three years ago and has never been seen again. Although I will confess the contents of the diaper bag have changed many times over the years to coincide with the age of my daughter, and will again with baby # 2 due in December. Currently in the bag: wipes, various snacks, crayons, coloring book, travel magna doodle, disposable toilet covers, sunscreen, and hand sanitizer. My wallet makes an appearance in the bag on weekends when it vacations from my laptop bag.

The first thing I think of when I wake up is: How many times can I hit snooze without my husband asking if I am going to get up?
