Amy Sleep

Amy bio picName: Amy Sleep (aka “Mom Mom Mom Mom Mom” by my 22 month son)

Position at Graco: Director-Strollers and Travel Systems

How long at Graco: 7 months

My favorite kids: Besides my son and my niece? I’d have to go with the Brady Bunch kids – I love that show!

Latest “wondrous” moment: “I wonder where he gets all that darn energy to run around non-stop?!”

My child’s most memorable first: Sitting up for the first time. When Boog was 6 months old my husband and I went to say “Good Morning” to him since he just woke up. He got a big smile on his face when he saw us and decided to try and sit up to see us. It took him some effort, but with us cheering him on, Boog sat up for the first time with both of us watching. The memory is still fresh in my mind.

You just have to know this about me: I’m usually late. I try and do everything (work, mom, bake cookies for neighbors, visit friends, etc), but things often take longer than I plan. Thus, I’m often late as I run from one thing to another – and sometimes I’m more than a bit exhausted too!

My favorite thing about being a parent is: Just one thing????!!!! OK my TWO favorite things are: seeing the world through his eyes (who knew a pebble could be so interesting?) and seeing his face light up when he sees me.

If someone dumped out my purse they would find: Not a whole lot since I don’t carry a purse. However, in my little wrist wallet you’ll find an unorganized mass of receipts, a wad of money (although not a very big wad one!), credit cards, my license (usually), health insurance card (just in case!), pictures of my son and grandfather, and a little thing of lip gloss. All my other necessities (phone and keys mostly) are either crammed in there too or stuffed in a pocket.

The first thing I think of when I wake up is: “Ugh. Is it morning already?” (I’m definitely much more of a night person and unfortunately having a child hasn’t changed this – despite the fact that he gets up early!)

My favorite children’s book is: I love all the Sandra Boynton books. They’re so fun and so original. My personal favorite would have to be “Pajama Time!”
