My favorite kids: My own! Ethan, aka “Best Buddy” is 6, a bit wild, and gets in trouble for dancing in the halls at school. Avery, aka “Sweet Baby” is 3, a true Southern princess, and gushy sweet.
You just have to know this about me: I’m a little different, but aren’t most folks? I won’t share everything here but here are a few things you should probably know: I enjoy playing acoustic guitar. I’ve worked at a dairy, built houses, rode bulls (yes like the rodeo), and rock-climbed cliffs. I like backpacking/camping, mountain biking, fly-fishing, kayaking, and generally anything outdoors.
If I had my 15 minutes of fame it would be because: Over the years I have maintained a book of business ideas that frankly out of fear I haven’t done anything with – much. My 15 minutes would be from one of those ideas taking off.
My favorite thing about being a parent: Everyday is discovery day for both me and my kids. I love seeing them explore and figure out new things.
If someone said “Go to your Happy Place,” where would you go?: Not sure I have an official “Happy Place” but if I did, it would look something like this….Large wooden front porch with white weathered paint cracking just a bit. I’d be sitting with my wife on wooden rockers drinking Granny’s homemade pink lemonade and watching Sweet Baby in her sundress on a backdrop of bright green grass – Best Buddy is swinging on a tire swing hung from a large Live Oak tree. Of course we’d be in the good ol’ deep South.
The first thing I think of when I wake up is: What do I have to get done today?
Favorite children’s book: Where The Wild Things Are – I love how Max tames the Wild Things by staring into their yellow eyes without blinking once!
