My favorite kids: Well mine of course! Because they are the most adorable, smart, funny, well-behaved, and loving children. (no comments welcome here)

Latest “wondrous” moment: There is a short time between books and lights out that I spend with my son that is precious to me. My husband takes my daughter to bed and my son and I are left to create magic together. (I’m actually getting teary-eyed writing this right now because I’m traveling today and know I will miss tonight’s ritual) I make up stories that involve 4 characters my son and I have created just for this time. It is a really magical time and I find it even better than reading. This way I’m not looking down at a book to read and he isn’t looking down at pictures- we are engaged together in some imaginative, wondrous place that exists only between us. “Jamie the Turtle” has even made a couple surprise visits (on the arm of my husband) which illuminates my sons face as well as his imagination- it’s a true wonder to see.

My child’s most memorable first: A lot has changed since my last “memorable first.” I’m very excited to say that my son (at just 4) has learned how to ride a 2 wheel bike! I am so excited for him- he is so proud of himself & he is loving his new found freedom (at least up to the corner of the cul-de-sac now!) It’s exciting to watch him try something and achieve it.  Now he thinks he can go to the “donut store” on his own!

You just have to know this about me: You have to know that my husband is a stay-at-home dad because it’s as much about me as it is my husband. We had the wonderful opportunity to explore this arrangement when my husband got laid off from his job while I was on maternity leave with our 2nd child. (6 weeks of 24-hour team parenting with a newborn and a 19 month old made a tough job seem easy!) We decided that he would just stay home with the kids and I would go back to work full-time. We are moving into year 3 of this arrangement and we couldn’t be happier. There are bumps along the road but isn’t that what parenting is all about?

If I had my 15 minutes of fame it would be because: One of my million big ideas landed! (and made a difference to someone)

My favorite children’s book is: Actually this list is long – I LOVE most children’s books (I almost pursued a Media Specialist Minor in college but the Dewey Decimal system still baffles me) but I was in the airport recently and noticed Mo Willem’s most recent release- Knuffle Bunny Too – the sequel to the cautionary tale, Knuffle Bunny. I’m excited to crack it open!
