Carol Helminski has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to car seat safety. As a parent and grandparent (with the youngest grandchild a wee 10 months old), she’s experienced every parents (and grandparents) concern when it comes to wanting the utmost safety for their child. Meanwhile, Carol’s 20 years of experience in the field, and certification as an Instructor and Technician for child passenger safety, has made her a respected source for advice when it comes to anything car seat or seat belt related.
Carol is a member of the Lee/Collier County Florida Safe Kids Coalition, however, if you’re not from Florida and are wondering why Carol looks so familiar, you may have met her at one of many certified car seat checkpoints throughout the United States where she often teams up with local safety organizations to demonstrate proper car seat installation. Other safety workshops and events Carol has participated in include; the Lifesavers Conference, Kids in Motion, American Academy of Pediatrics, Governor’s Highway Safety Association, the National Safety Council, State and Local Updates and many other conferences and events/exhibits.
At Graco, Carol is involved in product training and is a frequent spokesperson at numerous exhibits and conferences. Carol also represents Graco and car seat manufacturers on the National Child Passenger Safety Board.
Over the years, Carol has answered thousands of safety questions – at conferences, in showrooms, in the back seat of cars and at every party where there are young parents! However Thursday, September 30, 2010 marks the first time Carol will ever have answered safety questions over Twitter!
If you’re joining Carol for the Graco Car Seat Safety Twitter Party, be sure to tweet her “hello” at @Gracobaby – hopefully we can make her first introduction to Twitter a little less daunting
