My favorite kids: My two amazing daughters, 10 year old “Emmers” and 3 year old “KK”. Emmers is the clone of my intellectual side and KK is my social side, minus filters!
Latest “wondrous” moment: KK sat down on the potty, put on her crown, and announced: “I’m Princess Urea!” (She’s 3 and apparently watches way too much Discovery Health channel!)
Your/your child’s most memorable first: When Emmers sent me her first text message from her first real cell phone. (B-Day gift from her technologically savvy parental units.) It said “Luv u mom xoxoxo”.
You just have to know this about me: I believe in a world full of endless possibilities.
My favorite thing about being a parent: Teaching my girls to look at life with a sense of awe and playfulness. Exploring things like why painting toenails is so enjoyable, why cookies made with magic taste better, or why it’s sometimes okay to put your elbows on the table.
This book/movie/TV show best represents my life: Battlestar Galactica. Okay, not really, but it would be really cool and I do sometimes wonder if I am surrounded by Cylons.
Favorite children’s book: Harold and the Purple Crayon by Crockett Johnson. My favorite line, “He kept his wits and his purple crayon.” It serves to remind me that there is never a situation in which a little creativity and resourcefulness can’t provide a solution.
